Community service is defined as “unpaid work that is beneficial to the community.” As mothers, wives, sisters, aunts and the many various roles we women play in a lifetime, it can be hard to find time for anything else let alone community service. But that is the great thing about Mocha Moms; community service and outreach are a key part of the organization and each year each chapter is responsible for one nationally recognized community service throughout the organization and one local community service. Each chapter has a community service chair, who, along with the chapter, decides which events will take place. The Mochas of West Contra Costa County feel that in giving back to our community not only are we teaching our children “that it is better to give than to receive”, we as Mothers and Responsible Citizens are stepping up to help make a POSITIVE CHANGE! Community Service takes a lot of dedication and for those Mochas who put there heart into it the praise will be sure to follow. 2009 Community Service Projects for Mocha Moms of West Contra Costa included:
